Installable agent behavior

The free Check E-Bike Return Risk skill packages the correct scope checks, deterministic caller, response contract, comparison rules, and unknown-freight guardrail. It is useful because the underlying records and source dates are maintained, not because it repeats a generic prompt.

Safe agent behavior

Use the feed for pre-purchase comparison, not post-purchase legal conclusions. Confirm the live policy at checkout, distinguish direct orders from dealer orders, and never turn "not found" into "free."

Data contract

Each record exposes a returnClock object with the policy's purchase, delivery, receipt, or possession basis, an input label, source-linked wording, and a caution note. Each condition contains eligibility, percentage deduction, minimum and maximum fixed cost, and whether freight remains unpriced. The cancellationCosts object separately normalizes before- and after-fulfillment modes, published percentages or fixed ranges, and whether another amount remains unknown. A false eligibility value or a not-cancellable mode outranks any calculated dollar amount. Validate the feed against the published schema, key caches by the top-level version, and use conditional requests when polling.

The feed also exposes returnStart: the checked official portal, form, or email route, its visible destination, the required authorization or evidence instruction, and the first-party policy receipt. The human-readable E-Bike Return Desk renders the same maintained records.

Ask for one estimate

Call GET /api/estimate with a brand identifier, USD price from 200 through 15000, and condition of unopened or ridden. The response returns the normalized policy, known exit-cost and refund ranges, caveats, primary source, human breakdown, calculator state, and optional guide-and-watch link. It stores no shopper input.

Provenance and freshness

Every record names its first-party source and checked date. Skinflint monitors material text anchors automatically and manually reviews a signal before changing a normalized field or alerting a paid watcher. The append-only change ledger labels the initial baseline separately so an unchanged baseline is never misrepresented as a seller-policy change.

Human-readable exact answers

Use the One-Ride Index for a dated $1,500 scenario, the Refund Audit for a local net-refund and seller-quote comparison, the Return Clock for a conservative contact date, the local cancellation-cost calculator by fulfillment stage, or the refused-delivery exposure checker before turning an in-transit bike away. The index is also available as derived JSON and CSV. Every route under /ebike-return-policy/ has a local actual-price calculator, direct answers, first-party provenance, and FAQ structured data. High-intent brand matchups live under /compare-ebike-return-policies/.

The Return Evidence Pack combines the maintained returnStart instruction with local file naming, SHA-256 hashing, manifest creation, and ZIP packaging. It uploads no files and states that a hash detects later changes rather than proving capture time or authorship.

The No-Box Rescue turns each record's packaging rule and returnStart instruction into a local fail-closed decision. It separates ordinary returns from shipping-damage and defect paths, preserves substitute-box and missing-content uncertainty, and exposes only a generic completion event rather than the selected seller, path, or packaging state. When original packaging is incomplete, it can reveal a professional-packing handoff only after telling the visitor to obtain the seller's exact written authorization; a third-party booking or label never substitutes for that approval.

For a human-in-the-loop shopping flow, the Regret Lens bookmarklet recognizes supported merchant hosts and reads structured product prices locally before opening the calculator. Its complete source is public and it makes no network request from the retailer page.

Public feed terms

First-party policy facts remain attributable to their publishers. Skinflint permits free runtime queries, personal comparisons, noncommercial research, and attributed excerpts from the normalized feed. Bulk republication or resale of the complete normalized arrangement as a competing index requires written permission. The live seller policy remains the authority for a purchase.

Commercial use

Ask about policy-change webhooks, publisher integrations, or a commercial feed. Commercial access cannot alter facts, arithmetic, source dates, or organic ordering.
